Good sleep begins with the way we wake

Ayurveda describes sleep as a basic instinct of life, essential to all living beings. It is required to reset, rejuvenate and reenergise our body, mind and spirit, and is one of the three pillars of good health, alongside diet and sexual energy.

Believe it or not, in Ayurveda, a good nights’ sleep starts in the morning, with the way we wake, and the way we structure our day ahead. It’s worth beginning the day with energising teas that complement our biochemical drive to rise and shine like the sun.

We suggest enjoying any of the following blends in the morning to help you start your day:

Morning blends for caffeine lovers: Tulsi Green Tea Ashwagandha, Tulsi Green Tea Classic, Tulsi Masala Chai.

Caffeine-free morning blends: Tulsi Original, Tulsi Wellness, Tulsi Ashwagandha, and any of the Tulsi Ginger blends.

Given that it’s so common for sleep disturbances to come from disruptions in routine such as irregular waking, eating, working, and/or going to bed at a different time every night, regularity and consistency are key to restoring balance.

A dinacharya or daily routine that includes a well-proportioned mix of regular physical activity, work, rest, mealtimes and a consistent wind-down routine, all feed into the quality of our sleep.
